We needed to simplify; we needed more time outside.
OUR LIVES HAD BECOME COMPLICATED, CITIES, ENGAGEMENTS, RAISING A FAMILY, AND SPENDING LESS AND LESS TIME OUTSIDE.
We decided to change things. We made a promise to each other and our children that we would spend more time outside.
We sold our things, and we moved our lives to the Southwest.
We started spending more time outside, and our plan was working, kind of.
Getting outside with a family, spending all day on the coast, or just being outside required a lot of stuff. More specifically, we could not find a jacket that could live outside, keep you warm and comfortable, and keep your backside dry.
We tried changing robes; they were tailored to a flag and did not look nice.
We tried waterproof jackets; they were not very comfortable.
We tried layering, but it required numerous items and created clutter.
No brands were designing them in a way that allowed you to sit comfortably anywhere and keep your backside dry.
Something that kept clutter away looked good, kept us comfortable and protected in almost every scenario, and, most importantly, allowed us to get outside and stay outside for longer.
We are the best versions of ourselves when we spend more time outside.
